Dark and golden in color, with a forward honeyed richness on the nose. Ripe red apple, bruised peach and apple cider. There is a slightly advanced secondary flavor profile of spice and oxidative notes, but in a very pleasant way. Honey, wax, white pepper, and plenty of ripe, dried apple and citrus rind. This wine is exotic and unique, with a flavor, depth and complexity that is fun and delicious.

Tasting Notes

Ripe red apple, bruised peach and apple cider. There is a slightly advanced secondary flavor profile of spice and oxidative notes, but in a very pleasant way. Honey, wax, white pepper, and plenty of ripe, dried apple and citrus rind. This wine is exotic and unique, but I like it quite a bit. It has flavor, depth and complexity that are fun and delicious.

Vineyard Notes

Yamhill Valley Vineyard is located on a 150 acre estate in the rolling foothills of Oregon's Coast Range Mountains in the Willamette Valley. Soils consist primarily of Sedimentary clays with basalt intrusions with a complex array of Yamhill, Carlton, Chehalem, Panther Creek and Willakenzie soil types. The climate is cool with 35 inches of annual rainfall.

Winemaker Notes

The Warm summer days and cool nights of the 2019 vintage produced wines with ripe fruit flavors and balanced acidity. After five years of warm vintages with a dry harvest window, 2019 was a return to "classic" Oregon. Summer was warm without the heat spikes of recent Augusts allowing the fruit to ripen evenly.

Vintage Notes

Grapes were hand picked and fermented in 50% stainless steel tank and 50% barrel fermented in neutral French oak. Two different yeasts to build complexity.
